My First MAC Palette

This is my very first MAC palette. I normally purchase eyeshadows in the pot and I came to realize it was finally time to get a pro palette. I picked up the 4-quad one because I don’t really have that many shadows (I’m more of a cream eyeshadow person) but I like the idea of having them all together for storage and travel.

I just searched on youtube and watched a couple videos on how to de-pot the mac eyeshadows. It’s a little tricky and you can ruin the pots if you’re to careful… but i finally got the swing of things after a few tries. I love that the eyeshadows are magnetic so you can always switch out the shades!

The eyeshadow pictured in the upper right already in the quad is MAC Expensive Pink. Looking back I don’t think I should have picked this out. I asked someone at the MAC counter to pick out a shade that complimented my skin tone and she recommended this. I got this a long time ago so at the time I listened to anyone. Pink on my eyes now just make them look swollen…

The other three eyeshadows are probably my staple MAC eyeshadows.

The top right one (opened) is MAC Woodwinked. LOVE this color. It looks so good in the summer when you have a tan. It’s a beautiful antiqued shimmery gold. I have seen this shade on so many different skin tones and its really a unique and pretty shade. I'm a big fan of easy all over the lid eyeshadow so this one is one I highly recommend.

The bottom left is MAC Satin Taupe. While this may look very dark on a lot of people, I can wear this shade pretty much year round all over my lid because I don’t get that pale. It’s a sophisticated purple taupe shade with silver running through it. It’s definitely my go to shade for a subtle smokey eye as well.

Finally, the bottom right is MAC Brun which is my eyebrow shade. MAC does really good eyeshadow colors for eyebrows. Using eyeshadow gives a much more natural effect since you’re not drawing on lines with a pencil. It’s super fast to fill in the gaps to your eyebrows and to frame your face. Just use an angled brush, lightly sweep and fill in your brows and then I personally use some sort of clear mascara or eyebrow gel to secure them in place.

Do you guys have MAC palettes?
