Winter Lip Saviours
My lips have been cracking so easily lately. This has really gotten me to round up all my favorite moisturizing lip saviors and to keep one on hand at all times.
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream $20
As a cult favorite, I think this is great multi-purpose cream for dry lips, dry skin patches, dry cuticles and even putting on any wounds. Also, it's fantastic price for value. I don't think you'll ever run out. It's got kind of a strange scent but I think there's an unscented version you can get if it really bothers you. I like leaving this by the bathroom sink and just applying it before bed. It's a real thick petroleum like cream that coats your dry lips and leaves you waking up with super soft lips.
Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips $14.50
This is a more recent discovery for me but I've already become obsessed. This comes in a pretty small size so it's great to carry around in your jacket pocket for the winter or in your hand bag. It's similiar to the 8 Hour Cream but a little more firm and not as goopy. There is absolutely no scent and I love the way it makes my lips slightly sticky. Some people find this too thick as well but I love it.
Vaseline $4.49
Good old reliable vaseline! I also leave this by my bathroom sink and reach for this for chapped lips, coating my eyebrows and eyelashes because they need to be hydrated as well! This is just a classic product that I think everyone should own.
Kiehls Lip Balm #1 $7
This is similar to Dr. Lipp but not as firm. Another great soothing lip balm that really works for chapped or cracked lips. I think you've found a pattern in what kind of lip balms I like - they are all quite similar in consistency. This one contains SPF 4 and what's great about the Kiehls lip balms are they come in a variety of different scents (mint, cranberry, mango) and there's also a SPF 15 one.
Hope you guys are staying hydrating! New York just got REALLY cold.
